This was the best excursion of our trip by far. From the time Tim picked us up we knew it was going to be an amazing day. He was so friendly and chatted to whole time on the short drive to this amazing surf beach. He’s been here almost 10 years and gave us lots of tips and things to do and see. His private surf spot is spectacular and us and another couple were the only ones there and the waves were so pretty. The lesson was so much fun and safe- we have young kids and Johel made us laugh and learn and feel so safe in the water. The pineapple and put it all over the top. Mark this down as the first tour you book and you won’t be disappointed!

“We had the pleasure of surfing with this great company on February 3, 2017. Being a relatively new company we decided to try them as Blayne gave us a great overview of what to expect over the phone. Happily they exceeded all expectations! They picked us up on time, and as first time surfers they understood our concerns; the instructor Johel, was more than caring and very patient with us. After land instructions on safety and learning to surf techniques, we were out on the water! Johel was so good he got us up on the first run, a number of more runs and we took a well deserved break, for fresh cut pineapple and ice cold water. Then another hour of great surfing and we were done for the day. Exhausted but very happy with the whole experience! The pics they took were outstanding and we bought the pictures and a T-shirt. Awesome day, Awesome people and we can’t wait to come back for their stand up paddle board tour! Tim and Blayne were the perfect hosts for our adventure and also gave us many tips on what else to do in the region from restaurants to zip-lining. All suggestions were great and we could not have asked for more. Do not miss this new company and Tim and Blayne. truly something special! We will be back!”

My wife and I just came back to the US from our honeymoon in Costa Rica. We were referred to Surf Conchal from our hotel concierge, and what a great experience we had. Blayne picked us up right from the Westin and took us to Playa Grande in a very secluded area. On the way to the beach, Tim gave us a tour and a nice history lesson of Costa Rica. He is very passionate about the country and its people. Once we got to the beach it was empty and waves were rolling in, very consistently. We had never surfed before so it was nice to not be intimidated by surfers watching. My wife and I had a very brief lesson with Joel, before he took us onto the water and helped us stand up the first time for both of us. We were provided fresh pineapple, mango, and water during a short break in addition to the ride to the beach. Not only was the surf unbelievable at Playa Grande, the best part was seeing the pictures when we got back. They took over 500 pictures in the hour and half that we were surfing. I highly recommend these guys to anyone who had not surfed before. Joel has been surfing for over 10 years and is an excellent teacher. It was very refreshing to go on an excursion with a group that is so passionate in what they do and the experience their customers have, rather than trying to rip off tourists coming and going.

The entire experience from start to finish was amazing. The best surf adventure you can have. The hotel pick up, to the private location, a personal photographer, fresh cut pineapple was top notch. But more importantly the care that Joel our instructor had with the myself and two of my girlfriends was special. He’s works so hard and cares so much. Blayne the owner is with you the entire time – making sure you are being looked after and always having a story or helpful hints. He goes above and beyond. Highly recommend these guys for their safely, TLC and awesome memory.

This was a truly amazing experience! Johel was thorough, patient, funny, talented, energetic and totally awesome. I think the main thing that sets this outfit apart from all the others, besides the experience staff, is that they truly care about you and your experience! They are not our to rent you a surf board and turn you loose, wishing you luck. No…Surf & SUP Conchal want you to have the time of your life…and you will! This is the real deal, and I am certain you will not find a better outfit, instructor or better people than the folks at Surf Conchal!

We were staying at the Westin hotel and saw a SUP tour leave from our beach. When the group came back they told us they had an awesome time. We found they paddled up the coast a half hour to a small island where they all went snorkeling. Sounded great so we booked and are we glad we did. We chose the option to go to Playa Penca and SUP out the the island cove. A beautiful cove with a sandy beach where we left the boards. Snorkeling was awesome- clear , warm water where we saw tons of fish, including Puffer fish, a stingray and a turtle. When we took a break Johel put about 10 small black starfish on my arm and they climbed up it. It was so cool. The whole experience was amazing and professional and we recommencd Surf and SUP Conchal to everyone. Next time we are going to do the surf lessons.
